Which license for which trailer? We tell you everything!
License B
The basic rule
Trailer ≤ 750 kg
For a trailer with a GVW* of 750 kg or less, license B is sufficient.
Trailer > 750 kg
For a trailer with a GVW* exceeding 750 kg, license B is sufficient if:
The trailer's GVW* is less than or equal to the vehicle's UW*
The towing vehicle's GVW* + the trailer's GVW* do not exceed 3500 kg
License B96

Limit extension
This license allows extending the GVW* limit from 3500 kg to 4250 kg provided you have completed training at a driving school.
Training duration: 7 hours

Theoretical and practical part
On the road
3 hours
Road driving
First Part
Off-road - 4 hours
It covers the learning of the following concepts:
Practical maneuvering exercises, particularly in reverse.
Second Part
On the road - 3 hours (minimum 50 min/student)
It takes place in traffic and covers the learning of the following points:
Vehicle control
Anticipation, braking
Driving the unit
Trajectories, passing, overtaking
Consideration of other road users
Safety and vigilance
License E
For all other cases
Mandatory exam
In all other cases, it is necessary to obtain license E.
This license requires a complete theoretical and practical exam.
